About the College
Founded in 1868, Bishop’s Stortford College has grown to be one of the country's leading co-educational, all through, day and boarding schools for 4 to 18 year olds. It nestles amongst trees on the edge of the market town of Bishop's Stortford, close to the Hertfordshire and Essex border.
Friendly and ambitious, without being pretentious, it is a place that nurtures impressive enthusiasts with a love of learning; independent thinkers with the confidence to succeed and the courage to take risks; interesting people with a heart for others and a desire to make a difference.
We are large enough to provide an exceptional range of opportunities, yet small enough for individuals to be known and valued. In our family of three schools, each part has its own distinctive character, shares a common ethos and provides a wonderful continuity, without losing the excitement of moving to the next stage.
“It is not just the outstanding results that define students of Bishop's Stortford College but more the get-up-and-go attitude that they embody." Jessica, Head Girl 2010-11
