BREAKING ALL A LEVEL RECORDS, ONCE AGAIN!

A Level - 100% pass rate

The College celebrates another excellent year, with 55% of A level examinations taken being graded A, and 81% at A or B. Once again the pass rate was 100%, with 97% of results in the A to C range. 26 pupils (one third) gained at least 3 A grades!

Top performers included Helen Trantum from Bishop’s Stortford and Wilson Lee from Hong Kong with 5 grade A's at A level. Pupils with 4 grade A's from Hong Kong are; Kelvin Au, Michael Ho and Eddie Tam, and from Bishop's Stortford; Emma Dabbs, Emily Hatchett, Eleanor Maitland, Joseph Price, Ravin Thambapillai and Emily Woodhouse, and from Saffron Walden; Joe Foster and Vikram Visana.

Congratulating pupils, Headmaster John Trotman said, “I am so proud of our pupils. Right across the ability range they have performed outstandingly well. Their hard work, enthusiasm and maturity of approach have been so impressive and they are such good company, too. Each of the last three years has seen records tumbling and that takes real determination from the students and from their teachers too. Well done to them!”

RECORD EQUALLING 68% A*-A  AT GCSE

The College equalled last August’s record results at GCSE with 68 per cent A* -A grades compared to the national average of 19 per cent. High scoring performances included Harriet Robinson with 11 A*s and 1 A, Jennifer McGowan with 11 A*s, James Hutchings with 10 A*s and 1 A, Ella O’Malley with 10 A*s and 2 As, Rose Cooper with 10 A*s and 2 As, Jenny Callander with 9 A*s and 2 As, Ben MacKenzie with 9 A*s and 2 As, and Patrick Tsitsaros with 9 A*s and 1 A.
30 pupils qualified for the College’s “10 Club Tie”, awarded to pupils who gain 10 or more A or A* grades.

Six pupils were congratulated by the AQA examination board for being among the group of candidates who scored the top five marks in English Literature. As there were 364,832 candidates entered for this examination, this was an exceptional result! The six students were Ben Hatchett, James Hutchings, Harriet Robinson, Eleanor Holloway, Rose Cooper and Catherine Baker.
