Pupil joins the South of England cricket squad

College Junior School pupil, Harry Ramsden, was over the moon to receive a letter from the England and Wales Cricket Board announcing that he had been selected for the South of England U13 cricket squad. The thirteen year old from Manuden in Essex, will be one of twenty boys attending ECB training camps over the next five months, from which a team of fifteen will be chosen to compete against regional teams from across the country in August.

Harry, who began playing cricket when he was six, captained both the Essex county U11’s and U12’s and scored two centuries in last season’s county matches. “I like team games rather than individual sports, which is why I enjoy cricket so much. I’m keen to see how far I can go.” College coach Sandy Barnard said, “This coming summer, Harry will be in his third year in the College U13 team which is an unusual achievement and testament to his ability and potential as a cricketer.”
