Feeling compelled to do something; they began by setting up a Global Warming Committee and giving presentations to Junior and Senior School pupils urging them to get involved. Since then, the action group has rapidly expanded to over twenty-five pupils and teachers from across the College; a poster campaign is being prepared based on ten commandments to stop global warming; parents are being lobbied; letters will be sent to MPs (and Al Gore himself!) and an audit of energy usage is underway to identify ways of reducing the College’s ‘carbon footprint’.
“It’s a fantastic initiative by Lucy and Mario and shows what young people can achieve when they have the confidence, determination and drive to take a lead and motivate others to follow,” said Head of Sixth Form Tim Borton.
