An all round team performance secured the College’s victory in the final of the U14 district hockey tournament which took place on Wednesday 11th January. In an exciting match against titleholders, Newport Grammar School, the College girls kept the pressure on the goal until their determination and strong teamwork finally paid off with Katie Chambers scoring the winning goal just ten seconds before the final whistle.
On their way to the final, Bishop's Stortford College played Leventhorpe, Helen Romanes, Saffron Walden County High and Freman College in the first round, accumulating 12 goals and conceding just one, before beating Herts & Essex High School 1-0 in the semi-final.
The Bishop's Stortford College U15 girls’ hockey team also enjoyed
a successful season which culminated in winning the U15 district
hockey championship title in December.
