Conservative MP, Mark Prisk seemed quite relaxed in the face
of an astute, no-nonsense audience of College students during
the Lunchtime Interview which took place in the Library at the College. Unlike many politicians, he listened to the questions
which were posed, and proceeded to answer them clearly and to the point. He
fielded a wide variety of questions on topics such as: how to engage the younger
UK citizens in politics; what the Tories would do if Labour were to gain a third
term; help for Carers coping with the long-term care of sick and/or elderly
relatives (a growing problem with our aging population); his reasons for being a
Tory; University Tuition fees (the Tories suggest loans instead); ASBOs
(Anti-Social Behaviour Orders), and what he thinks of how to deal with potential
terrorists and indefinite house arrest.
