Numerical excitement

A strange phenomenon has occurred this term – young boys and girls can be seen avidly reading Maths books. Yes, Maths books! It is believed to have been triggered by the serial Murderous Maths author, Kjartan Poskitt, who was last seen enthralling Junior School pupils with monstrous mathematical mysteries in his characteristic and inimitable style. Poskitt left in his wake an enthusiasm for numbers which the Maths Department are delighted to keep alive.

Who is that man? Kjartan Poskitt describes himself as a “freelance everything”. Since getting his engineering degree he worked on Saturday morning TV (including BBC's Swap Shop!), presented science and maths programmes, warmed up thousands of studio audiences, toured his one man show, played a lot of pub pianos very loudly and has been Widow Twankey. His books have been translated in 20 languages and include "The Gobsmacking Galaxy" and the "Warp Maze".
