The Snow Queen

Pre-Prep pupils, aged 4 to 7 years old, enchanted their audience at the College when they gave outstanding performances in a special production of 'The Snow Queen' to mark the tenth anniversary of the Pre-Prep Department. Menacing ice sprites, quirky crows, graceful snowflakes, colourful flowers and trees with considerable attitude, together with the main characters brought the enchanting, much-loved story to life for parents, grandparents, staff and friends this week. It was a major achievement involving all 120 children. The last undertaking on this scale was in 2002 when all the Pre-Prep children took part in a colourful production of 'Omutugwa', a trans-African play based on the traditional story of Cinderella to celebrate the Junior School’s centenary anniversary. “It was incredible to see such confident performances from children this young,” commented one parent after the first performance on Tuesday. “They delivered their lines with such gusto and character, it was amazing. They were obviously really enjoying themselves.”
