The Pre-Prep Department was celebrating an excellent OfSted report in which the Reception classes under review attained “very good” on all counts – the highest grade that can be awarded for education and care. In particular, the ethos and learning environment, the high standards of teaching and attainment, breadth of curriculum and the positive behaviour and attitude of the children were noted:
• The quality of teaching is very good with children achieving very high standards in all subjects.
• Staff provide a very stimulating and lively environment for the children and lessons are well thought out, exciting, stimulating and fun.
• Children are confident and sociable. Consistent praise and encouragement and the strong, whole school ethos of caring and consideration for others results in high standards of behaviour. Children are encouraged to be kind and good friends to others.
